The Airport sponsors an annual Tower Banner Student Art contest for high school students in the Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena Unified School Districts. Based on a particular aviation-related theme, school art educators and city public art commissioners pick the winning artwork, which is hung on the Airport’s terminal tower and seen by millions of travelers. Second- and third-place winners have their artwork displayed in the Terminal B hallway. In addition, the Airport presents each school district with a $3,000 check to promote art education.
The 2020 theme is “Future of Aviation”
